New Brass + Copper Lighting from Barn Light Electric

If design trends have taught us anything over the past several years, it’s that popular metallic finishes like brass and copper are here to stay. Up until now, the lighting industry has made leaps and bounds with decorative fixtures, but the industrial aesthetic kept to its familiar finishes: enamel and galvanized steel. All of that is changing now thanks to Barn Light Electric, a forerunner in the industrial lighting biz and a particularly favorite vendor for some of our commercial projects (think farm-to-table in Asheville and future Savannah-based butcher shop). If you’re looking to add a bit of shine to your next kitchen, bath, or commercial project, check out some of our favorite picks from the new collection. Having trouble with scale and placement? Give us a ring – we’d be happy to help. Sources: 1. Outback Industrial Brass Pendant / 2. Bowie Copper Wall Sconce / 3. Fargo…

Our Top Picks: Industrial Pendant Lights

Image via Whether anchoring down a dining table or lighting a kitchen island, industrial pendant lights have come a long way from their warehouse counterparts. Available in a range of finishes, some more contemporary than others, these hanging pendants provide a large scale lighting solution for your home. When specifying an industrial light, be sure to take into consideration the drop height, the type of drop (rod or chain), and the amount of light it will shed. Most metal shades will cast a focused downlight, requiring additional lighting in the space. If you’re hoping to let one of these pendants stand solo, be sure to pick out a shade that allows light to escape, as seen below in #6.
