Project Breakdown: Sweet & Vicious

Local Savannah creative and long-time friend Libbie Summers has done it again. With years of experience both in the kitchen and on set, complimented by her award-winning food blog Salted and Styled, there’s no question as to whether Libbie was ready to tackle her second book release: Sweet & Vicious. A slight departure from The Whole Hog Cookbook (less pig and more pink), Sweet & Vicious is all about exploring new taste sensations in the realm of baking. However, still evident throughout its fuchsia “dipped” pages are some incredible stories from Libbie’s adventures in the world of sweet and savory concoctions.  To celebrate the recent release of Sweet & Vicious, Libbie knew we could capture the spirit of the book just as we had for The Whole Hog Cookbook. When she found the newly-renovated Whitman off of Forsyth Park, we loved the challenge of complimenting the historic architecture with bright and…

Camp Circa 2013

When Circa Lighting asked us to turn their new warehouse space into a cozy holiday party, we were excited to take on the challenge. Using the adjacent lot as inspiration for an outdoors event that focused on getting back to nature, we staged a camp-like space where Circa’s hard-working “scouts” could relax around an open fire and regale on this year’s finest moments. With an old, rusted canoe, two trailers of hay, and a sea of candlelit mason jars, we gave the folks at Circa a camp experience worth writing home about. Take a look at some of our favorite event details captured by Izzy Hudgins Photography:

Project Breakdown: Best of Savannah 2013

This year’s Best of Savannah party hosted by Savannah Magazine was a swinging Jazz bash centered around the opulence of the roaring 1920’s. With Gatsby’s taste and a fresh color palette in mind, we had the pleasure of setting a swanky background to what would become one of the most talked about events of the year. Take a peek below at some of the photos captured by photographer Katie McGee for Savannah Magazine and leave a comment with your favorite vignette of the night!

Camp Spooky 2013

Last weekend we loaded the Rethink bus with little campers from the Downtown Neighborhood Association (D.N.A.) and headed straight to Camp Spooky: a camp experience filled with haunted tents, ghost stories, tricks, and of course treats. Situated in Telfair Square, the “costumed” campers were encouraged to create spooky crafts and gather ’round the fire to hear some of Savannah’s most haunted tales. Grab hold of your flashlight and be sure to look out for ghosts as you peek at photos taken during camp:

Project Breakdown: Gentleman’s Club

Last week we shared the celebration of both our latest Rethink member along with Joel’s birthday with party decor themed around a gentleman’s club. As is with most of our small events, this party was put together using simple DIY tricks and various vintage finds. Our advice? Always keep a lookout for unique, quality pieces that can be reused or up cycled into crucial event decor. With a little creativity, a stack of suitcases becomes a side table; an old crate becomes a candy bar; those old mason jars become table centerpieces. Who says parties on a budget can’t take the spotlight? Rethink Tips: When to spend: Photographer, Caterer, Music When to save: Decor, Take-Aways, Invites* *We used Overnight Prints to order our custom invites cheap and quick – but don’t be fooled. To actually get anything overnight is pretty pricey. We recommend allowing yourself 2-3 weeks to…
