We’re back! We had such a great time in NYC and there is sooo much to see that we barely scraped the surface. We put together a little collage of images from our time there- Brooklyn, Chelsea, the Subway and more. Unfortunately the weather was a bit dreary most of the time but we made the best of it. Although only a quarter of the booths showed up for the Brooklyn Flea- it was still a really great experience and showing of all different types coming together. ICFF was another good display of a huge number of vendors and artisans- I’ll be posting some of our highlights later this week.
I wish I had a pedometer to log the amount of walking we did but I have to say I enjoyed walking over the subway (making your way to Brooklyn from the West Village on a Sunday is just no fun). We returned via the bridge and were able to see the city from a whole new vantage point.
Our apartment in the West Village was adorable- we’ll call it warm bohemian mid century modern. It was cozy, well styled, and in a great location. (The pictures came out blurry so you’ll have to take my word for it)

I’d also like to mention how great the food is in New York- you have every option under the sun! Some of the highlights:
Room Service. Definitely try the fresh Mojito- it’s well worth the wait. Also, be sure to get the sticky rice and ask for a side of peanut sauce…AMAZING (I’m currently contemplating having them send me weekly care packages of the stuff).
Freemans. Same sort of vibe as our cozy bohemian apartment but with superb food and drinks. The restaurant is in an old house at the end of an alley so you’d miss it if you weren’t looking- but make it a point to go. Try the Devils on Horseback- Dates stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon.
Arturo’s. A classic New York pizza joint serving coal-oven pizza with a slice of history and a side of live jazz. We shared the Marguerita pizza and topped it with the arugula salad- yum!
